Hi, I work exclusively dawless and despite having several synths which can easily act as basslines I was looking around for a dedicated bassline. If I understand correctly, can the DB01 create lines on its own using the random button? Is this what I'm looking at in the video?

are you able to change the start point of the sample effectively. Allowing for you to do chops on a single assiml8or channel?
I had to make chops in Ableton divided by 8th notes at the correct tempo and the assimil8or have cv zones so say 1v to 1.5v is sample 1 and it allows for 8 zones if I remember right. I think you can also do the start point too, but I don’t have one anymore and didnt get too deep with it cause it was a pain to just do this setup and the file scheme is weird. I’m about to try out a Sample Drum which I think is more in the traditional sampler workflow.
@@ObscureMachines thanks for the reply. Yea I think assimil8or is super rad but more of a sound shaping tool then a workflow focused sampler. That’s how I see it. The sample drum seems so awesome, especially for its workflow and what not. Looking forward to more of your posts, cheers.

Is it better to set db-01 as the master than the lxr 02? or just personal preference
Depends on which one you want to press play on. I would default to drums as master, but it doesn't really matter. Also, whichever one is easiest to setup.
